Overview

The Community Support Specialist/Direct Support Professional works 1:1 with semi-independent individuals with disabilities in their homes and local communities across the Minnesota Iron Range and surrounding communities. The position will support independent living and daily task management through teaching life skills, promoting community involvement and facilitating leisure activities. This position offers a high level of independent working, decision making and flexible schedule management based on client needs. *Drivers license and personal vehicle is required, must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to NHS Northstar’s insurance carrier (paid mileage reimbursement available).

*New employee starting bonuses to be paid after 90 days of employment:

  • Full-time positions: $250.00
  • Part-time positions: $125.00

Base starting pay:

  • $17.00/hr

Qualifications

Experience/Education/Training

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred

Regulatory Requirements/Licensure

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Department of Human Services Background Check
  • Meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to NHS Northstar’s insurer
